Preparing for the Pinata!

We celebrated Amaury's 40th and Noah's 5th birthdays a week early today with a Party in the Park :)  After raining much of the morning, the afternoon was nearly perfect.  Several sweet friends joined us for an afternoon of playgrounds, bike riding, caterpillar-catching, cake-eating, and pinata punching!  We are truly blessed to have wonderful friends to help us celebrate.  We praise God for another year of incredible life for Amaury and Noah and rejoice in His goodness to them and to us!  Happy Birthday and Feliz Cumpleanos!  We love you!

Classical Conversations Week 24

Anthony in Science class

The boys and me :)  These are some mighty sweet young men in the making.  They are 6-7 years old and know a lot more about Latin, history, science, and English than most adults.  I am so proud of them.  Some of them I've had for 48 weeks of CC, and others for 24.  I have learned as much from them as I've taught.  CC has been such a blessing to our family :)
Noah in his Science class with his friend Leah.

Nathan's afternoon Essentials class and the plunder they won for all their hard work and excellent effort this year :)

This was the third year our family has participated in Classical Conversations and we have been blessed so much by this community.  There are amazing families in this place and they fill us with some many wonderful ideas and challenge us to be better in all we do.  Our boys have made some of their best friends here and I have too :)  We look forward to what God will continue to do through CC.

Hair today . . .

I am so glad I can NOT take credit for this hair do!  Nathan loves to play with the brush when he gets out of the shower.  I always tell him that is going to dry that way, but he doesn't care!  This time I threatened him and told him it was going on the blog to which he replied, "Sweet!"  Oh well, here he is :)

Noah's tooth :)

His first "real" tooth fell out today.  He pulled it himself :)
3 minutes later, he's eating pizza!

I am SO not ready for him to start losing teeth AND he turns 5 in a few days!  Where does time go?  It is definitely bittersweet for me, but super-exciting for him :)  We love you, Noah!  Our big boy!

Old friends, new location :)

(L-R) Noah (4), Anthony (6), Nathan (10), and Coleman (8)

Stephanie, Beth Ann (10), and Christie
Amaury, Stephanie, Christie, and David

What a treat for us!  Friends from college have moved to High Point, NC and we were able to visit them yesterday :)  We had not seen each other since their wedding in 1996 - way before kids and jobs and all the adult stuff!  What a pleasure to see how gracious God has been to them and to meet their sweet children.  Much fun and lots of laughter were shared over pizza and pound cake.  We hope to make this a regular occurrence!  Welcome to NC, Henson family!

Noah and Awana Cubbies 2011-2012

Noah, the absolute cutest Cubbie ever!

Waiting in line with the other blue elephants to see Cubbie Bear :)
Listening to Cubbie Bear, Luv E. Lamb, and Ern E. Elephant.

Playing fun games!
Look at that face!!!

Noah is in his final year of Cubbies and he has truly enjoyed it AND learned tons of Scriptures.  I have been able to serve with him this entire year and it has been a blessing to me in so many ways!  We love you sweet Noah!

Recent fun in the warm temperatures :)

Anthony loves to create new contraptions with his Legos.  Here is one he made in a matter of minutes.

Sharing pizza, and silly faces, with dear friends at the park :)

Displaying their geo-cache "treasures" they found in the park!

Sweet Noah and his new bike helmet, to protect from the high speeds he rides his bike :)
