Chimney Rock State Park

Getting ready for the climb . . .

On top!

What a view!
Chimney Rock from above . . .

Holding up the rock  . . .

Climbing high!
Hickory Nut Falls trail was 152 stairs down TO the trail, then 1.5 miles, then 152 stairs back UP to the top . . .

But TOTALLY worth it :)

All 5 happy campers!  We made it!

Awww, the love . . .
The boys and the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains.

On the Great Woodlands Trail . . .

On top of the FROG!

Look at that crazy, twisty-turvy road we had to follow just to get there!

We had such an awesome time at Chimney Rock State Park, located just about 20 miles east of Asheville, NC.  We spent the whole day climbing the rock, hiking the trails, and observing the wildlife, both real and not-so-real :)  This ranks right near the top of the boys' favorite vacations.  We are so blessed to live in a state where we have both the beach and the mountains within 2-3 hours drive.  We love looking at God's amazing creation :)
