Best buddies and teammates, Anthony and Alex :)

Anthony is on his first Coach-Pitch baseball team and he is loving it!  He has a great coach and is learning lots of new skills as he gets to play different positions and gain fielding skills.  It doesn't hurt that his best friend is on the team too :)  Go Yellow Jackets!

We, once again, had the privilege of leading music for the annual Hispanic youth camp over Labor Day weekend.  Its a lot of work with many, many hours of practice over the summer months and it makes for a busy weekend, but we love having the opportunity for Amaury to play drums and for me to sing in the Praise Band.  Lots of fun for the kids as well as they get to go to the beach, go to the pool, have no school, meet new people, eat in the cafeteria, and just play.  We have made many wonderful friends over the years we have been serving in this ministry and we are so blessed by God to have the opportunity to serve in this way.  Although we all come back speaking a strange form of "Spanglish", its so worth it :)

Free Haircuts!

Noah's trimming of the curls :)

Anthony ready for a cut!

Nathan and his super-thick hair :)
The finished results: 3 handsome boys!

JC Penney offered FREE haircuts for kids all during the month of August, so we took advantage :)  For once, they had a professional do the job!  Noah just got the curls trimmed, while Nathan and Anthony asked for "half-mohawks" and, surprisingly enough, she knew what they meant :)  They didn't shave the sides, but the top and back are spiked :)  Or as Noah likes to say, "spiced"!

Night at the Mudcats :)

The fun crew!

Noah was given a foul ball by the left fielder and it is his prized possession :)

The happy couple :)
Our neighbors, Nelson and Gala (on her birthday!), who joined us for the fun ;)

Posing with Muddy the Mudcat!

What a fun night we had at the Carolina Mudcats with our neighbors!  It was $1 hot dog night and that may have been the kids' favorite part of the whole night :)  We are thankful for the fun opportunities the Lord gives us.

Homeschool Day at the NC Science Museum

Noah petting a box turtle :)

Anthony petting a blue-tongued skink!

Noah petting a rat snake (and I'm way in the back of the room!)

Anthony and the corn snake!

We are so privileged to live in the capital city with all the free museums :)  A few times a year the local museums have special programs for homeschoolers.  They got to attend different animal seminars, learn about the new aquarium, and study constellations.  Nathan was with us, but he go to attend his seminars alone now that he's a big 10 years old :)

Pizza!

If this is not every 10 year old boy's dream, I'm not sure what is :)  We were picking up pizza to take to our Praise Band music practice.  Nathan volunteered to hold all the pizza on his lap all the way there :)  I'm not sure why he doesn't volunteer to do the dishes also :)

Joyner Park

Anthony on a pretty bridge :)
"Peaceful" Noah . . .

Ready for anything Nathan . . .
Collecting objects for the nature bags each of them made

Getting ready for a solo ride . . .

Such a beautiful park!

How TALL are those trees!?!?

Taking a rest :)

A seed that Anthony found for his nature bag.

We are so blessed to live very close to this wonderful park. It used to be a dairy farm that has been converted into a wonderful nature park with biking/walking trails, original old farm buildings, and plenty of green spaces.  This week we just popped the bikes in the van and spent the afternoon riding, walking, exploring, and relaxing.  God is so gracious to give us a park so close and so creative to make His creation so beautiful :)
