Thanksgiving 2010

What a spread! Everyone brought a dish to share and it all tasted so yummy!
The guys got in a little domino-playing time . . .
Even the kids joined in on the domino action . . .
Sharing some Thanksgiving verses before the meal to remind us of the abundant blessings of God in each of our lives . . . . .
What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had! It has to be one of our family's very favorite holidays! Several members of the Hispanic ministry from our church visited us for the Thanksgiving meal. We had traditional North American Thanksgiving foods mixed with Caribbean and South American dishes and it was DELICIOUS! We had such a sweet time of fellowship and remembering God's goodness to all of us :)

San Diego

Amaury recently had the opportunity to go to San Diego for a conference for an entire week. While there he had a few hours of free time and was able to tour the beautiful city and visit some of the tourist areas. He really enjoyed seeing the west coast for the first time and especially enjoyed the warm, record-breaking heat they had that week :)

Party on the Block 2010

Noah "muscle man" Santos :)
Anthony and Noah playing games at Party on the Block :)
Noah (muscle man), Nathan (pirate), and Anthony (PowerRanger) before Party on the Block.
Nathan and his buddies Josh, Samuel, and Nathaniel :)

Plucking at the keys . . .

Nathan has now been taking piano lessons for about a year and has really done very, very well with them. He especially enjoys his piano teacher, a great young woman from our church and finds practicing fun and relaxing. We are also thankful to God for giving us access to this wonderful piano that was given to us by good friends from church. We are very proud of Nathan and his progress!

Morehead Planetarium at UNC-Chapel Hill

We got to go with our awesome homeschool group to the Planetarium last week to help reinforce what we are learning this semester in Astronomy. Nathan was chosen to participate in one of the "experiments" during one of the shows. He was thrilled! He learned a lot about the pressure and weight air has on all objects. It was a lot of fun for the whole family!

Signs of Fall

We've been watching this beautiful spider for months now. She has been in the same location at the bottom of our deck stairs since summer. We thought she was dead, so we touched the web. DEFINITELY not dead! She has just found herself a nice feeding place and is not moving ;)
Part of the view from our back deck. It is so beautiful here in NC during the fall.
Some of the acorns we found on our deck one morning. Maybe the squirrels will come back for their plunder :)

Writing in Spanish :)

Nathan has been learning to write in cursive and doing really well at it. Today he was able to copy Efesios 6:1 (Ephesians 6:1) in Spanish and I was so proud of him! In his Spanish class through our homeschool co-op he is able to take Spanish every Friday morning and learn Scriptures in Spanish as well. What a blessing to know more than one language - just think how many more people you can tell about Jesus! We love you Nathan!
