School's in session!

We actually started school well over a month ago, but we're just now getting into a good groove where things are flowing really well.  We've already completed 5 weeks of our homeschool co-op, but most of the nitty gritty work takes place at home.  We are really enjoying this year especially as we are studying American History, which is so interesting.  The boys are able to study Bible,math, language arts, latin, spanish, reading, piano science, history, and geography along with some other fun things.  I'm so thankful for the opportunity to teach my children at home :)

Soccer starts!

Its official!  We're now a soccer family, in addition to baseball and basketball and Taekwando!  Noah started his league this morning with Kickin' for the Cross at Bayleaf Baptist Church.  He absolutely LOVED it!  They do thirty minutes of drills, a devotion, and follow it with a 30 minute scrimmage/game.  He scored a goal on the last play of the game!  So much fun and looking forward to a great season!

Hair today, gone tomorrow :)

Well, the time had come to get a much-needed haircut!  My scalp was getting sore from the heavy weight of my super-thick hair.  I even had headaches at times, not to mention many "bad hair" days :)  So, I went to my incredibly talented friend from church and she worked her magic.  Its the shortest my hair has been in over 15 years!   I have about 8 1/2 inches to donate to Locks of Love.  I am so glad she did it :)

Boys will be boys!

One of the boys' favorite friends is Alex who lives down the street.  When he comes for a visit they always have a great time.  The top photo was my suggestion; the bottom photo was their idea!  How much fun!

Power Camp 2011

What a blast our family had at Power Camp, the annual sports/creative arts camp that our church hosts each year.  This year all of us were able to participate in the camp, including Noah who had his very first camp :)  The theme was "Wise Up!" and taught about how we are to pursue wisdom through learning more of God's word and applying it to our lives.  We really had an awesome time each night as the kids honed their skills in basketball, baseball, soccer, and tae-kwon-do.  Fun!

Yeah! Science Camp!

This year Nathan had an incredible opportunity to participate in a Glaxo-SmithKline Science in the Summer camp!  It is such a fun camp for the kids and very, very popular.  There are only 20 spots at each location/age group so parents have to be vigilently waiting at the computer for registration to open.  We missed it last year, but NOT this year :)  We were ready!  This year they studied electricity and magnetism and Nathan loved it.  On the last day the students get to show their families all the experiments they have been working on all week and even the siblings get a chance to try them out.  Tons of fun!

Runner's Camp 2011

This was Nathan's 3rd year for Runner's Camp and Anthony's 1st year and it was a wonderful camp for them both to share.  Even Noah got a ribbon for his run in the Sibling Race :) It was crazy hot the entire week, but the kids got plenty of opportunity to play water games to cool off.  It was a special treat to have their neighborhood friend, Alex, participate with them :)  We are very thankful for all the local opportunities that Wake Forest and our local churches offer our children.
