We officially began season #3 for Nathan and baseball yesterday :) He went to his first practice and had some really nice hits, caught some grounders, and even improved on the fly balls. Although he doesn't yet know his team's name, he has made some friends on the team. It should be a great season for him!Friday, March 19, 2010

Playdate at the Park

Although not officially here, spring has sprung in our hearts! We had a playdate with Nathaniel from Nathan's co-op class at a local park this past week. The weather was great and the kids played on the playground, rode bikes and scooters, and chased each other around. A lot of other people were getting rid of cabin fever as the park was pretty crowded. We're so thankful for the wonderful friends we have made at school this year and for the warmer weather :)Monday, March 8, 2010
He's still so cute!
Ok, so after daily reminding the KIDS to be careful not to break Anthony's glasses, MOMMY breaks them !!! I was simply cleaning the lenses and adjusting the frames - they are supposedly Flexi-Frame Magic Twist frames for kids that don't break easily - and they simply snapped in two. But Anthony, as usual, took it all in stride as we worked frantically to come up with a temporary solution until we can get to the optometrist. He is still so stinking cute even with a rubber band between his eyes :) We thank God for these glasses and for Anthony's attitude.Anthony's Presentation

Here is a picture of Anthony giving his presentation at co-op. He did it on the 5 circles of the globe (Arctic, Antarctic, Equator, Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn) as they are currently studying maps and weather. He did a very good job and had such a good time at "school". His attentive friends look on . . .
Circus!

No, we didn't run away and join the circus, although it would have been fun! We did, however, go and see the Ringling Brothers when they passed through Raleigh a couple of weeks ago. These pictures are from the Pre-Show where you actually get to go on the floor and interact, up close and personal, with the performers. It was very neat and the kids especially loves the clowns and their antics. We saw tigers, elephants, zebras and much, much more. It was the first real circus for all of us and we really enjoyed it!

Final Art Class

We have had the privilege of having the boy's homeschool art class in our home each Monday for the last 6 weeks and we have really, really enjoyed it. We have all learned so much. They have learned about several famous artists and tried many new techniques on different media. We will miss the children in the class and the fun, but we will continue striving to be artists :)
