The backyard garden!

We decided to try our hands at a very small garden this year with only a few "crops". We planted 2 tomato plants, 1 green bell pepper plant, and 1 cucumber plant. We are proud to say they are all doing well, but the cucumber has some catching up to do! We had our firstfruit this past week from the pepper plant. Its so neat to watch it grow almost daily. There is also a peach tree in our yard and it also has some beautiful little peaches on it. And, of course, we have a nice hammock to take a rest from our toiling in the sun! We are so blessed!

Front yard landscaping :)

What a joyful reminder of God's creativity when we walk outside our front door! The people who lived in our home before us must have had green thumbs as they planted numerous flowers and plants around the yard. They are beautiful! And since we didn't know what was planted it was a great surprise when they all started blooming. The mosaic stepping stone with the white cross is a project that Nathan and Mommy did together a couple of years ago when living in Florida. We love it too!

Papaw visits and takes us out to "the old ballgame!"

When Papaw comes for a visit we usually end up at the ballpark and we always have a blast! Even though the game was called in the 5th inning due to rain, it didn't dampen our spirits at all :) As you can see on their faces, they loved it! God even gave us awesome seats that were covered from the rain with an incredible view. The kids enjoyed watching the tarp being put on the field, and removed, AND put on again! - to cover the rain - as much as the game itself. Ahhh, the simple pleasures bring so much joy! Thank you God!

More pics with Papaw!

The kids love playing with Papaw and sitting in his lap. They even got to get Muddy the Mudcats autograph - although Noah was not too thrilled with being that close to Muddy, Nathan and Anthony enjoyed it and the game!

Noah - all tuckered out!

As we spent a couple of weeks packing up all our stuff to move across town, the kids got pretty bored pretty quickly with all the preparations. So, one day amidst all the boxes and all the noise, Noah decided to catch a cat nap right in the middle of the living room! Isn't he the cutest thing ever??? (except for Nathan and Anthony, of course!)

Awanas Awards Night 2009

Nathan finished his first year in Sparks and Anthony finished his first year in Cubbies. To say they love Awanas would be a HUGE understatement. They both completed their Scripture memory books and got all their attendance awards. Nathan even got a review emblem for completing the book twice. Anthony got a special stepstool handmade by one of his leaders. We are so excited at how much Scripture they are "hiding in their hearts" and how much they enjoy learning God's Word. Congratulations boys!

Night at the Mudcats with ODBC!

An annual tradition with our church has been the Night at the Mudcats! We love baseball, but we especially enjoy getting together with friends, laughing, and fellowshipping! The kids love all the crazy music and free giveaways - AND being with their friends. Don't let their faces fool you!
